Senior motet musical lockdown performance
During the recent weeks of lockdown, Director of Music, Anthea Roue has been working virtually with the senior motet. Mrs Roue created a backing track and they performed and submitted their footage for her to piece it all together.
The piece is called 'Count the Stars' by Andy Beck and is performed by the senior motet choir, consisting of Upper Sixth students, Louise, Rosie, Florence, Harriet, Jasmine, Lucy, Mae, Giorgia and Upper Fith student Rachel.
This was the first piece the motet performed this earlier on in this academic year. The girls instantly liked this piece and requested we performed it again, therefore it was included in the Eisteddfod and as an encore in the Spring concert.
"We had planned to arrange a concert this term where the senior motet would perform as a group as well as any solo work. They are a truly talented group of young people. Along with the sadness of their GCSE and A levels either interrupted or cut short I couldn't let that be the end of their The Ladies' College musical experience and therefore was delighted when they leapt at the chance to film their parts."
