Mrs King - Head of Drama
BA(Hons), National Diploma in Professional Acting, GTP
Maggie King graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London and from the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts, London (ALRA) and worked as an actor and director in London for nearly 10 years. Since moving back to the island in recent years, Maggie has taught English at The Ladies' College since 2013 and took on the role of Head of Drama in 2017.
Mrs King has an unbounding enthusiasm for Shakespeare and brings to the department the experience of having worked in the industry professionally for many years, both in a freelance capacity and as Artistic Director of her own professional theatre company, which specialised in making the works of Shakespeare and other classical texts accessible and enjoyable to all ages. She seeks to instil in pupils a shared enthusiasm for all drama and literature and encourages confidence, effective communication and creativity.
