Students have opportunities to carry out their own research collecting and analysing their data and drawing conclusions from their results.
Students are also given the opportunity to search for and read up-to-date published research papers which they can use in their examination answers.
The Psychology department posts relevant TV programs and articles published by the British Psychological Society Reader's Digest on the SharePoint for students to access. For the latest research and debates within the on-line Psychology community she also encourages social media to be used in a positive way by suggesting people to follow on Twitter.
Independent learning is a key skill which will be developed and required at A-Level. Therefore, students are given guidance, encouraged to challenge themselves and use initiative, use a range of sources and scaffolded tasks to help them use their time most effectively. Through this process, they will learn research supported techniques for revision and consolidation and be prepared for life beyond.
