Psychology - Our Curriculum
Psychology will allow you to have a better understanding of the human mind and how everyday behaviour is influenced by the world around us. It will enable you to develop your critical thinking and evaluative skills and have a better understanding of many social, scientific and contemporary issues involved in our daily life.
Some of the topics covered in the first year include eyewitness testimony, social influence and explaining psychological disorders. In year two, students will have the opportunity to study specialist areas of Psychology in Issues and Options (see the A-Level subject guide and AQA specification for more information).
Assessments
Studying psychology will enable you to develop your critical thinking, analytical and evaluative skill. Within each year group, students are assessed in written work, within both class and examination sessions.
