Miss Clements - Head of Art

BA Hons Derby (Britannia Mill Art College), MA Liverpool Hope, PGCE

Having studied Applied Arts at University, Miss Clements during her teaching career has taught across many aspect of Art and Design Technology including, Fine Art, Textiles, Ceramics, Product Design and Resistant Materials. Her teaching career has seen her teach across both Independent and Comprehensive education, including an emotional and behavioural school. Miss Clements has a broad experience beyond the classroom as a Careers coordinator, Assistant Head of Year and a member of SLT, both in the UK and Middle East and thoroughly enjoys taking part in extra curricular activities such as D of E and sports.

Miss Alston - Head of Photography

BA Hons, University of Brighton, PGCE with QTS, Bath Spa University, MA Bath Spa University

Miss Alston has recently moved back to Guernsey after having gained valuable experience teaching in both Independent and Comprehensive education in England. Studying Fine Art at University has provided Miss Alston with a wealth of experience in a range of media which she will utilise in her delivery of both Art and Photography at The Ladies’ College. She is currently studying for a Masters in Education with Bath Spa University with the intention that research and findings will support the progress of learning for The Ladies’ College students. 

Mrs Smith - Art and Photography

BA Hons Three Dimensional Design, Silversmithing, De Montfort University, PGCE 

Mrs Smith has a keen interest in Three Dimensional creativity. Following an Art and Design foundation she studied Three Dimensional Design, specialising in Silversmithing at De Montfort University gaining a 2:1 Hons Degree. Mrs Smith has a broad range of knowledge and 23 years worth of experience within the resistant materials curriculum and enjoys working and delivering lessons using varied medium in Art. She has been a teacher of Design Technology at Christ's Hospital and Ipswich School. Her previous roles or co-curricular experience have included pastoral boarding house mistress, hockey and swimming coaching, i/c ski/ snowboarding trips and Young Enterprise. She is an active member of staff, who enjoys a variety of water sports including paddle-boarding and other activities such as cooking, music, singing, dancing and acting.
