Jean has a wide breadth of musical experience. As a performer she has played with most of the major UK orchestras, also recording for TV, radio and CDs. She was a recipient of the gold medal and Commonwealth Musician of the Year title. Jean has been awarded an honorary Associateship by the Royal Academy of Music for 'distinction in the profession'. Jean's main focus is now teaching, both in the classroom and giving woodwind and piano lessons. She is an examiner for ABRSM and is also a member of the Jazz panel. Jean directs Melrose Junior choir, handbell team and Flextet, the music-making group.
