"Why was there no meeting of Minds in the New World?"
This half-term, U4 Historians have been investigating "Why was there no meeting of Minds in the New World?"
Their task has been to prepare some teaching materials for Year 4 pupils and on Monday 13th February the whole of U4 made an excursion to St Martin's Primary School.
There was a brilliant buzz in the room as pairs/threes of College girls delivered the material to excited 8 and 9 year olds. Our girls' higher order thinking skills were really stretched by being required to explain, to simplify and to engage younger pupils in the question "Why did England's First Colony Fail?" Thanks so much St Martin's for having us!
And, if you want to know more yourself, ask an U4- they're especially good on theories about whatever happened to the "Lost Colony" of Roanoke!
