Greg Rutherford visits Ladies' College
Ladies' College was thrilled to welcome London 2012 Olympic Long Jump Champion Greg Rutherford. He came to school to talk about his amazing sporting experiences and show off his well deserved Gold Medal.
He told the girls how fortunate he had been, to able to compete in London 2012 at full fitness and in good form. He inspired them with his story; how he seized the opportunity to become Olympic Champion when it presented itself. He was also keen to tell the girls that his career has not all been plain sailing and that he had suffered lots of defeats and injuries.
The girls asked him many questions which he answered with enthusiasm, particularly the one about his celebrity encounter with Borat and Damien Lewis!
The girls (and staff!) really enjoyed meeting the London 2012 hero and were left inspired by the story of his success.
