Extra Curricular Activities

Something for everyone

We know that our girls are academically motivated but pursuing interests outside the curriculum is every bit as important in developing self-esteem and a sense of achievement. We have outlined below a selection of the activities available.

Design & Technology

The D&T studios are open by arrangement with the teaching staff for girls to use out of lesson time, with specialist CAD programmes for those with an interest in computer graphics.

Drama

Each year there is a whole school play which involves girls from all age groups. Removes, Lower 4 and Upper 4 may also be involved in year group production. Sixth Formers run a drama club for Remove.

Information Technology

The computer suite is open for girls to use at break and lunchtime. During the year specific activities are organised which will involve different groups of girls.

Junior Choir (open to all girls in Remove to Upper 4))
Senior Choir (open to all girls in Lower 5 to Upper Sixth)
Chamber Choir (a smaller group of senior pupils selected by audition)

Instrumental Lessons

Girls who currently receive tuition form the Schools’ Music Service will continue to receive this at the Ladies’ College as a matter of course. Additional freelance music tuition is offered for woodwind instruments, guitar, drum kit and piano.

The College Library organises various activities, including a regular reading group.

A weekly Christian lunch-time club.
